Sample preparation for Weld Macrographic Analysis

The welding process aims to permanently join two or more objects into a single solid body through different methods. Due to characteristics such as cost and safety, welding is present in everyday life: vehicles, aircraft, civil construction, etc.

To evaluate the efficiency of the welding process as well as the quality and safety of the welded item, it is not enough to observe only the external aspect of the weld, it is necessary to evaluate the internal fusion between the materials involved in the process, this analysis can be carried out through macrography of the Weld bead.

To help with this process, we have prepared a practical Guide for sample preparation, containing all the necessary step-by-step instructions, as well as the necessary equipment and care.
